NY1240830 Outreach Coordinator/Case Manager Full-time outreach coordinator/case manager is needed for US Department of Labor Grantee in Utica, NY; BEAM-Bridge to Employment and Academics Marketplace. The successful candidate will be assigned to the CDO Workforce NY office located in Oneonta, NY. Grant position ends September 30, 2018. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or closely related field and 3 years relevant work experience; OR Associates Degree in Human Services, Education, or closely related field with substantial related experience will be considered. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required, reliable transportation, ability to travel throughout the region, and non-traditional hours may be required at times. Outreach Coordinator/Case Manager will work closely with local One Stop Career Centers, community training providers and local community college, employers, and participants to deliver intensive, wrap-around support services to assist college stop-outs in accessing post-secondary educational opportunities to obtain credentials that will lead to employment opportunities. Primary Responsibilities: Ensure career planning, access to training opportunities, successful completion of training that will lead to paid employment to all participants. Plan, direct, and participate in extensive community outreach, recruitment, and enrollment activities across the region. Provide students with information on such topics as college degree programs and admissions requirements, financial aid opportunities, technical and trade schools, and apprenticeship programs. Conduct career planning seminars, coordinate support services within the region to remove barriers/obstacles that interfere with successful completion of training. Complete Individual Academic Plans (IAP) and assessments, access financial aid and funding streams, provide referrals and brokering of services, extensive data entry, and continuous follow-up services to support successful transition. Qualifications / Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have ability to facilitate job readiness workshops, provide career counseling and services including resume writing, application assistance, interviewing, and job referrals. Must collaborate closely with training providers, community based organizations, colleagues, and employers. Will participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, provide monthly and quarterly reports, and adhere to evaluation study procedures and protocols. Will collaborate closely with training providers, colleges (admissions, financial aid, registrar, career services, etc.), community based organizations, colleagues, and employers. Must possess work experience demonstrating strong organizational, assessment, communication, and time management skills. Must be proficient in meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently, as well as with others in a team atmosphere. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work with people of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, and maintain customer confidentiality. Competency and experience working with economically disadvantaged individuals. Must possess strong computer literacy skills, including knowledge of basic software applications, and familiarity with internet and e-mail communications is required.
