Boiler Plant Mechanic
Summary of Position and Responsibilities:
The Boiler Mechanic is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repairs of high- and low-pressure gas and/or biomass fired boilers, controls, auxiliary equipment, and steam distribution systems. Position requires 12-hour day or night shift work during heating season (approx. mid October-Mid May), then all staff works days during summer.
Five years’ experience in all aspects of the maintenance and repair of steam and condensate distribution systems, boilers, furnaces, and auxiliary systems and controls.
Education and training may be substituted for experience.
The ability to operate all related test equipment, specialized tools and to read control prints to perform necessary repair functions. Must be able to move, position, place, and transport objects up to and including 75 pounds. Must be able to: Perform repeated bending, squatting, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Stand and walk for a prolonged period. Ascend and descend ladders and scaffolding.
