Parts & Service Sales Person

Summary/Objective: Responsible to increase parts, service and rental sales in assigned sales territory.

  • Produce maximum business in their assigned sales territory
  • Analyze and route their territory so that they can spend the maximum of their time selling parts, service and rentals
  • Servicing customers in regard to complaints and keeping management advised
  • Work closely with account sales person, advising them of parts sales or rental sin their accounts
  • Keep records of all accounts, indicating type of equipment, buyers and service personnel
  • Help Service Manager with service education of mechanics
  • Hold safety and training programs for customers at the direction of the Branch Manager
  • Attendance and participation at all sales meetings.  Branch and Corporate.  Also attend and participate at Parts and Service meetings
  • Responsible for preparing recommended parts list on new equipment in their territory. Presenting them to their customer and advising them of the need to stock these items to   keep the customers equipment operable as much as possible
  • Present themselves in a manner that projects the Corporate image in appearance, attitude and policy
  • Works closely with both Service and Parts Managers in their respective branches

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking sitting, crawling, stooping, crouching kneeling possible throughout the day
  • Occasionally will need to lift or move up to 25 pounds
  • In and out of a car

Travel:   Travel is primarily during the business day.

Field Installation Technician

Full time for U.S. Materials Handling Corp. in Utica, NY.

Summary: Under the supervision of the Service Manager, will provide installation service and operational maintenance to a variety of material handling equipment which includes but is not limited to: dock levelers, truck restraints, scissor lifts, high speed doors, dock seals/shelters and warehouse racking systems. Service calls, operational maintenance and other assigned duties and projects will be coordinated through the Service Manager. All work will be performed in a timely manner. professionalism, quality , safety and cleanliness are to be maintained at all times. Customer service will be the top priority.

Duties: Install all equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and requirements to maintain the product warranty. Observe and maintain all safety regulations and requirements per OSHA, USMH and customer safety policies and procedures. When install is complete, make sure the work area has been cleaned and all paperwork has been completed and signed by the customer. Make sure the customer has been instructed on how equipment is to be used and given any printed materials supplied by the manufacturer. Perform operational maintenance to a variety of material handling equipment as needed. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Excellent mechanical aptitude. Self-confidence, flexibility and open mindedness. Willingness to look for ways to contribute to improving the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, operating and maintenance manuals. Ability to writ routine reports, work orders and correspondence in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work in a fast-paced ,changing environment. Ability to work with a lap top computer and other trouble shooting electronic device to solve equipment problems. Ability to use hand tools in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to problem solve effectively and to promote customer up time. Ability to think and make decisions fairly quickly. Forklift certified (training provided. Ability to work overtime when required.

Physical Demands: Able to lift 50-70 lbs. Able to work outside in adverse weather conditions. Able to work with safety glasses and hearing protection. Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling throughout the day. Able to use power tools. Travel for this position is primarily local during the business day.
