DAYS AND HOURS: Monday through Thursday 8:30 am -3:30 pm.
Present workshops and training programs on a variety of topics including, but not limited to: Interview Skills, Soft Skills, Customer Service, Team Building, Leadership Skills, Resume and Cover Letter Writing, Conflict Resolution in the Workplace, Computer Literacy: Keyboarding, Internet Navigation, Online Job Applications, and Microsoft Office products.
Develop new training programs in conjunction with the Director of Training and Programs. Present Community Workshops as requested for partner non-profit programs, businesses and other community groups.
Coordinate WERC guest speakers, special presenters, and programs.
Work diligently to establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with local businesses and Human Resource Directors.
Maintain current job listings as provided by employers and disseminate information to WERC participants. Assess participant skills and work with them (in groups and one-to-one) with the goal of placing them in employment positions. Conduct community outreach and class recruitment activities.
Coordinate all class graduation activities.
Write/edit client resumes and assist with the development of employment materials.
Provide career counseling in groups, with individuals in person and/or on the telephone.
Prepare clients for job interviews by assisting with employer research and conducting mock interviews.
Conduct extensive and detailed client intakes.
Ability to effectively and compassionately work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
Accurately track data on cases, volunteers, or other required information for monthly, quarterly and annual reports according to funding agreements or direction of agency supervision.
Prepare monthly reports for submission to the Executive Director.
Enter data into the New York State One Stop Operating System.

Participate in agency events, including staff/team meetings, recognition events, fund raising activities and other events as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree and at least 2 years of related experience in Human Resources, Job Development or Public Speaking. Must have a valid NY State Driver’s License. Reference/Security Check required.
Must be versatile and have basic skills in the various trades involved in the building maintenance field including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, cleaning, snow removal and grounds maintenance. Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of the job with no lifting limitations.

Communications Tower Climbers for Mid-State Communications, in Oriskany, NY. Immediate full-time openings for self-motivated, safety-conscious and quick learners to join the team installing Communications Equipment/Antennas/Coax and mounting hardware etc. on towers, monopoles, rooftops, etc. Candidates will be required to work at heights (average 0- 300 ft.) and to follow all State, Federal, Industry, NATE and Company Safety Regulations and Procedures. 2 years’ experience as a tower climber or in the industry preferred, but will train qualified personnel. Must possess a clean NYS Driver License / Record, and minimum of High School/GED. A CDL w/air brakes would be a plus but not required. Current Experience, Safety, Specialized training and Industry Certifications a plus. Electrician and Electrical, Generator and/or HVAC experience would give an applicant a considerable advantage. Work locations are generally out of town via company vehicles, home weekends. Overnight and per diem expenses paid.
