US Census Recruitment December 13th in Herkimer

Representatives of the US Census will be at Herkimer Working Solutions, 320 N. Prospect Street, Herkimer on Friday, December 13th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm recruiting Census Staff.

The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking thousands of people to assist with the 2020 Census count and are actively recruiting for Census Listers and Census Field Supervisors.

They are also looking to fill positions to include: Office Operations Supervisor, Recruiting Assistant and Office Clerk.

Dec. 4th, 2019: Oneida County Opioid Task Force KICK-OFF Summit!

The Oneida County Opioid Task Force will be hosting an Opioid Task Force Kick-Off Summit on Wednesday, December 4th from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM at SUNY Polytechnic Institute (Student Center, 100 Seymour Ave., Utica, NY 13502).
This summit will announce the NEW structure of the Oneida County Opioid Task Force, and present information on current opioid-related initiatives happening throughout the county. There will be a host of diverse speakers including Veronica Miller from the Workforce Development Board. Additionally, there will be an open forum for comments and feedback.

Come learn about this new initiative to tackle the Opioid Epidemic, and how you can join the effort!

MasTec Network Solutions will be at the Madison County Career Center on November 21 from 10am-12pm. MasTec is seeking full time Tower Technicians to work at their facility. These positions pay $17-18/hr and offer a full benefits package. The selected candidate would climb and work on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment. The candidate would be responsible for performing tower maintenance as needed under close supervision.

Minimum requirements: Must understand the hazards associated with tower climbing and utilizing construction equipment while working on or near energized lines and equipment. Must possess the ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) while carrying a 50 lb. load. Must be able to recognize safety hazards and perform duties in a safe manner. Must be able to utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment. Must be able to analyze situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action. Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, be able to follow instructions accurately and complete an assigned course of action. Must be able to travel as required for this position.
