Carpenters' Apprenticeship Recruitment - January 6th

Apprentice Carpenter Recruitment Monday, January, 2020,  6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Utica State Office Building, 207 Genesee St. Utica. Please bring valid ID for building security. Please use the ground floor, Genesee St. entrance.

Apprentice Carpenter
The New England Regional Council of Carpenters' Apprenticeship Program will conduct an ongoing recruitment for 20 Carpenter Apprentices on the first Monday of every month at the State Office Building, 207 Genesee Street, 1st floor, Conference Room A in Utica, NY.  Learn to be a carpenter in commercial construction trade.  On-the-job training allows you to work and learn to develop your skills. Various job locations. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver license and reliable transportation to and from statewide work sites. Use of hand tools/power tools. Must provide own hand tools. Will be working outside in all types of conditions. Must pass DRUG TEST. Must join union. Full time, work hours vary.  Workdays are Monday to Friday. Overtime. Related experience accepted. Trainee accepted.  Must be at least 18 years old. Must be physically able to perform the work required as determined by the applicant attesting to the required qualifications as listed on the Apprentice Application. Must have reliable transportation to and from work & school. If applicant is a veteran, a copy of DD 214 is required after offer of employment or indenture.  Must take a drug test provided by the Apprentice Program, upon acceptance and paid for by the NERCC's Apprenticeship Program.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all perishable products grown are handled, picked and processed according to Company standards. This will ensure that we meet customer demands with highest quality and efficiency.

Education and Background Requirements: No previous experience is required.  Prior related experience is preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Self-motivated, positive attitude, work independently and in team setting. Ability to take continuous direction. Ability to make changes as needed without advance notice.

Working Conditions: Greenhouse Environment, where the temperature averages 70 degrees and background noise approaches 70 dcbs.

The Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Utica, New York (UMHA) invites interested parties to submit proposals for AmeriCorps Program Evaluation Consultant for its nationally recognized AmeriCorps program. AmeriCorps is a national service program which deploys paid volunteers to alleviate poverty and address issues of homelessness, unemployment, and financial literacy.  UMHA intends to select an independent contractor to provide AmeriCorps program evaluation services to include a review of 2019 program data and stakeholder surveys as well as on-going process evaluation services to ensure that the program is meeting its outcomes.
