GS-5 Customer Service Representatives (CSR) in the Albany, Utica and Watertown, New York Social Security Field Offices
A CSR GS-5 is a public contact position that requires good written and oral communication, good interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills, and good comprehension. A CSR assists the public by answering a wide variety of questions, conducts interviews, investigates situations, and resolves issues. They make determinations that affect a claimant’s ongoing eligibility for Social Security benefits, analyze claimant’s benefit payment history, and obtains information.

A CSR GS-5 starting salary is $33,394 and the minimum requirements are listed on the “2019 SSA Customer Service Representative” document linked below. In addition, the minimum qualification requirements include passing the Meet-and-Deal Panel Interview.
