  • Struggling to job search in the digital age? Herkimer Working Solutions is hosting free computer training and certification classes from Northstar Digital Literacy. Learn basic computer skills, internet basics, career search skills, Microsoft Word and Excel and more. They have sessions every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.   • The Women’s Employment and Resource Center is collaborating with Eddie Barone and Deb Grogan from First Source Federal Credit Union for a Financial Empowerment workshop, which will cover how to budget, how to open a savings account, money management, and more! The workshop will take place March 6, 2025, from 11:00AM – 12:00PM at Empowered Pathways, 502 Court Street, Suite 234 in Utica. Call (315) 724-1718 ext. 104 or email to sign up today! 
  • The Women’s Employment and Resource Center is collaborating with Krystal Curley, Program Outreach Specialist I for the NYS Department of Civil Service for a workshop, Demystifying Civil Service Merit System.   • Job Corps Information Session 9:00AM – 1:00PM every other Wednesday at the Herkimer County Working Solutions. Job Corps is a federally sponsored training program, offering training opportunities in Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, Construction, Automotive, and more, all free of charge. Job Corps serves youth ages 16 – 24 and can help with GED, trades training, driving, soft skill training, and transition services. For more information, call Kimberly Dean at (607) 267-1621.   • Police Academy at SUNY Morrisville! The Madison County Regional Phase I Police Academy is offered through SUNY Morrisville, with the assistance of the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the New York State University Police. It is designed for current civilian or non-sworn New York State residents who are interested in entering the law enforcement field as a police officer in New York State. Although the program does not guarantee admission into a police department, every standard required in a full-time basic police academy applies, including physical fitness, attendance, and academics.
