  • The Women’s Employment and Resource Center at 502 Court Street, Suite 234, Utica is offering their August Mental Wellness Vision Board Workshop. The workshop takes place August 1, 2024, from 9:30AM – 12:30 PM. Register today at or call (315) 724-1718 ext. 104. Set your goals for the future! 
  • Struggling to job search in the digital age? Herkimer Working Solutions is hosting free computer training and certification classes from Northstar Digital Literacy.  Learn basic computer skills, internet basics, career search skills, Microsoft Word and Excel and more.   • MV Tech Corps Training at MVCC. Get started on a career path in Mechatronics, Welding, Carpentry, Masonry, CNC Machining or HVAC. Earn a tech or trades certificate from MVCC in just eight months.   • Real Life Rosies Bootcamp – A great opportunity for women! Prepare for a career or Registered Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing. There is no cost to participate. The program is offered by MACNY, The Manufacturers Association, Mohawk Valley Community College, and Working Solutions.

The Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center is offering eight full-tuition scholarships for individuals interested in enrolling in the Madison-Oneida BOCES Nursing Aide Training program.

The Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center is offering eight full-tuition scholarships for individuals interested in enrolling in the Madison-Oneida BOCES Nursing Aide Training program.

 

 

The 125-hour CNA course includes 95 classroom and skills lab hours plus 30 clinical hours. The scholarships will not only cover tuition, but will also pay for associated costs including books, uniforms, shoes, watch and NYS exam fees. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be guaranteed employment at Sitrin. Individuals who receive the scholarships and complete the training must sign a two-year employment contract with Sitrin.

he Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter is seeking a FT Janitorial Team Lead in Rome

Job Duties
Assist other Janitorial Team members with daily cleaning tasks.
Provide expertise and guidance to all team members.
Oversee supplies inventory and equipment maintenance.
Make recommendations on to Offsite Janitorial Coordinator about chemicals and equipment used on a daily basis.
Front line supervision including but not limited to coaching, mentoring, disciplinary, and appraisal.
Have a functional understanding of all aspects of the customers cleaning requirements.
Maintain proper security when entering/leaving the building to comply with rules set forth by the customer.
Complete all job tasks listed in the scope of work, and ensure the cleaning is performed daily.
Oversee and maintain appropriate supply inventory and order as needed.
Maintain timely and accurate operation documents daily, weekly, and monthly.
Ensure that best practices and safety procedures are performed as required.
Ensure all Janitorial staff is providing excellent customer service to all worksite employees.
Provide on the job training as needed to support staff in their position each day.
Remove snow, apply ice melt, and clean exterior grounds on parameter of building as assigned.
Adhere to scheduled hours and submit completed timesheets to supervisor on time each payroll period.

Requirements
Must either be a veteran or a person with a disability.
Ability to pass all security clearance screenings to access property and building.
Ability to work independently and function as a team member
Ability to work flexible schedules which may include day or evening shifts.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to move materials from one area to another.
Must be able to operate any machines used by the Janitorial Department.
Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
One year experience in Janitorial industry.
This position works out of the Defense Finance & Accounting Services building located on the Rome Airforce Base
