TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

• Herkimer Working Solutions is hosting free computer training classes! Learn basic computer skills, internet basics, career search skills, Microsoft Word and Excel and more. They have sessions every 1st and 3rd Wednesday and Thursday of the month starting at 2:00PM. Space is limited – call (315) 867-1400 to register. 
• Time is running out to sign up for Advance 2 Apprenticeship at MVCC. They are enrolling for their Spring Session now. You’ll receive training to develop in-demand skills to jumpstart your career in Manufacturing. There is no cost to students. It runs February 23 – May 13. There will be an Open House February 4th at 4:00PM at the Mohawk Valley Community College Rome Campus – Plumley Complex. 
• WERC Presenting Yourself to Employers Training – The Women’s Employment and Resource Center at 502 Court Street, Suite 234, Utica is offering their Presenting Yourself to Employers Training! The training will take place on February 24th + February 26th from 9:00AM – 12:30PM. Register today at or call (315) 724-1718 ext. 104. 
• Spring WERCshop Series – The Women’s Employment and Resource Center at 502 Court Street, Suite 234, Utica is offering their Spring WERCshop Series. • Mohawk Valley Build – MV Build is a paid 12-week training program for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades. The program runs from March 2 to May 22. It is held Monday – Thursday from 5:00PM – 8:30PM at the MVCC Construction and Trades Building, 335 Catherine St., Utica, NY. MV Build provides classroom and hands-on experience, a nationally recognized credential, and an opportunity to enter into a union apprenticeship upon completion of the program. 
• NYS Department of Corrections and Community Services will be hosting 3 upcoming recruitments at the Herkimer Career Center, 320 N Prospect St., Herkimer on 3/4, 3/24, and 4/15, all events running from 10:00AM–12:00PM. Anyone interested about learning more about the Corrections positions are encouraged to attend one of the recruitment sessions.
