50 Forward Mohawk Valley (formerly Parkway Center) is a non-profit organization, who mission is to provide programs and services to individuals 50+, empowering them to live healthy and vibrant lives. 50 Forward MV is the sponsor agency for the Oneida County AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Volunteer Resource Center. Way 2 Go Herkimer and Oneida County and a partner in the Livable Communities Oneida County initiative.

The Volunteer Program Specialist will be committed to achieving the following results:
• Assesses volunteer needs of the community
• Perform volunteer recruitment and placement for Volunteer programs
• Interview and place volunteers in community assignments
• Provide information and support to volunteers
• Coordinate and monitor volunteer assignments
• Incorporate programming for impact and performance measurement principles
• Develop and maintain close coordination with volunteer stations
• Recruit Volunteer Stations throughout Oneida County
• Coordinate Volunteer Resource Center Volunteer Projects
• Coordinate volunteer transportation programs including Non-Emergency Medical and Member Transport.
• Perform data collection and database management.
• Submit data reports as needed.
• Perform promotion/outreach in the community
• Work closely with Volunteer Coordinator Verona Beach
• Plan National Days of Service and Annual Recognition Event
• Participate in CarFit, AARP Safe Driver and other transportation projects.
• Assist with Oneida County Livable Communities Action Plan projects
• Attend trainings and meetings as necessary to the position
• Responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or the Executive Director


Qualifications:
• Associates Degree preferred
• Experience working with volunteers preferred
• Excellent Computer and Technical skills, including database management
• Excellent communication/customer service skills
• Valid & Clean NYS Driver’s License & own vehicle required
• Local travel required

Position is M-F 35 hours per week, $36,000 annually.

The Regional Apprenticeship Development & Readiness (RADAR) grant will be holding a National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) event via zoom. This event is part of a nationwide celebration showcasing the impact Registered Apprenticeship programs have in building the American workforce as well as highlighting the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeships for re-building our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, building a pipeline to good, quality jobs, and supporting underserved communities.

The free event will feature breakout rooms and attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a number of Apprenticeship-based grant programs, as well as employers with Registered Apprenticeships.
