DFAS PRESS RELEASE:

ROME, NY (June 9, 2023) – The Defense Finance and Accounting Service’s facility in Rome, NY, will conduct an open house highlighting career opportunities and benefits from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 15 at the Griffiss Institute located at 592 Hangar Road in Rome, NY.

The event will highlight the positions currently available as well as presentations on navigating the application process through USAJobs.gov.

Currently, DFAS Rome has opportunities for accountants, accounting technicians, financial analysts and contact representatives. The open house will allow attendees to speak with DFAS human resource liaison team members about resumes and other information required when applying for federal government positions, as well as the benefits available to successful applicants.

Resumes will not be accepted during the open house because the actual application process, including submission of resumes, must be completed on the USAJobs website. Current DFAS Rome employees representing the various career fields will be available to provide information about how the agency supports the Defense Department, the military services and military members.

During the open house, seminars on using USAJobs and crafting resumes for federal job announcements will help potential applicants find employment opportunities and prepare for the application process.

The open house is open to all, but it is specifically targeted to job seekers in the DFAS Rome commuting area of Oneida, Madison, Herkimer, Onondaga, Lewis, and Oswego counties.
