Vecino Construction Group is hiring immediately for entry-level general laborer ACTION Squad teammates!

ACTION (Advancing Construction Trades in Our Neighborhoods) is a unique part of Vecino Construction. The program helps locate and provide an opportunity in construction to individuals who might otherwise find it difficult to apply and get started. The ACTION Squad is the starting place for a job and—potentially—a career in construction.

WHEN: Tuesday, August 22nd, from 10:00am to Noon

WHERE: 700 Broad Street, Utica, NY

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements include:
• High School diploma
• OSHA 10 training

The role of the Laborer is to execute general construction labor tasks as assigned by the Superintendent, Project Manager and/or Project Executive. Other duties will include day to day punch lists and projects, along with enforcing OSHA standard safety protocol.

This 72-hour course introduces a wide-range of manufacturing processes, including safety, CNC Machining, hand tool usage, robotics, and lean manufacturing. Training will include skills that will help you grow professionally. Come learn about new job opportunities in the field!

Course details and learning outcomes:

No cost to participate.

Classes run Sept. 19th - Dec. 14th, 2023 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.Tuesday classes are in-person at MVCC - Rome Campus. Thursday classes are online.

A $1,000 stipend will be given to participants that complete the course.

In this course, you will learn interview skills, how to set-up your LinkedIn account, and visit local manufacturer sites.
